A big couple of months at Sugar Loaf

The last couple of months at Sugar Loaf have been a proper whirlwind, in the best way — between a really good run of reviews and awards, some great momentum behind the scenes, and a couple of big events that reminded us why we love getting out there and sharing the wines with people.

We recently had boots on the ground at ProWine Shanghai, and it was epic. Joe was over there showcasing the best of Sugar Loaf and Orchard Lane to a huge crowd, with over 20,000 attendees — pouring wines, meeting plenty of trade and wine lovers, and flying the Marlborough flag alongside some amazing wineries at the NZ Winegrowers stand. It was honestly awesome to see Sugar Loaf on a world stage, and even better hearing the feedback in real time. Everyone was loving the Marlborough magic, and we came home feeling energised, with some exciting conversations underway.

Then last weekend we were down at Hagley Park for the South Island Wine and Food Festival, pouring wines to the lovely people of Christchurch. Massive thanks to everyone who came by for a taste and a chat — the sunshine, the vibe, and the support made it a standout day for the team.

Now it’s head down for the next few weeks, getting everything lined up for what’s ahead. You may have noticed our online shop is currently showing as “sold out” — don’t panic! It’s simply because the shop is under construction while we work on a few changes behind the scenes, and it’s all part of some exciting news we’ll be sharing with you in the New Year. In the meantime, even though the shop isn’t live, you can still purchase your wines the easy way — just email Joe at joe@sugarloafwines.co.nz and we’ll sort you out.

Merry Christmas, everyone, and thank you for being part of the Sugar Loaf journey.
