Our cellar door provides tastings and the opportunity to purchase wines during week days from November to April. The best thing about our cellar door is we're small so you get to talk directly to the winemakers and we're always sampling some of our unusual or new release wines.
Sugar Loaf Wines was founded in 2004 by the then 23 year old Kate, Sugar, taking its name from the islands which lie off the stunning Taranaki Coastline where Kate grew up.
Our 21 hectare estate vineyard is home to some of the oldest vines in Marlborough, producing stunning Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling.
A splendid rendition of the variety; the elegantly expressed bouquet shows lemon zest, lime sorbet, apple and floral characters, followed by a finely textured palate that is focused and mouth-wateringly tasty. The wine offers subtle sweetness, which is brilliantly framed by juicy acidity, leading to a persistent refined finish. Style: Medium-dry.
